2014 was a wild ride!

Flannel pajama pants on my bottom, two dogs at my side, and a computer on my lap. That’s how I’m leaving 2014, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. After all, it’s been a busy and exciting year and I’m content with letting 2015 roll in quietly. I’ve had some great moments (let’s be honest, some not so great moments too), and I’m thankful I’ve been able to share this journey with you.

Because it’s New Year’s Eve and I want to reel in 2015 with positive energy, I’m only going to focus on the good and not the bad of the past year. Here’s a look back at some of my favorite moments from 2014:

I got legally married.

I shared the stage with Mitch McConnell (stories united us!).

The Facing Project grew in some really cool ways – including being named by The Huffington Post as one of three oral history projects to watch.

I became the Interim Executive Director of Indiana Campus Compact.

Kelsey and I were invited to keynote or headline eight different events and speaker series which enabled us to share Facing Project stories with thousands of people.

I traveled coast-to-coast and back again, and had a two-month stretch that took me to Atlanta, Miami, NYC, LA, and New Orleans (and I got to see an old friend — Hi, Ashley!).

I ran my best time ever in the One America 500 Festival Half-Marathon (Indy Mini) – 13.1 miles in 1:41!

I met some really amazing folks along the way—including many of you. Thank you for continuing to be a part of my story.

Happy New Year! Sending positive energy your way.

Here’s to 2015!
